Description

Two hand-poured tapers are made of 100% pure beeswax. Candles are 10" and fit most standard 7/8" sockets. All-natural, beeswax tapers give a wonderful warm glow. Perfect for the dining room, a sideboard, the living room or lighted before a small family shrine of our Lady for prayers. They are nearly drip less in draft free places.

Burn time is approximately 10-12 hours each

Candles come as a pair and are packaged in a clear sleeve bag.

These candles are made right here at the monastery by the nuns in small batches.

Why Beeswax?

-Beeswax contains no harmful chemicals sometimes found in paraffin candles

-Beeswax has a much longer burn time than paraffin candles.-They burn cleaner, hardly producing any soot.-The light they emit is clear, strong and bright.

- Beeswax is a renewable resource-Beeswax can be burned around those with allergies or those who are sensitive to chemical scents.

Symbolism of Beeswax candles: The pure wax extracted by virgin bees from flowers symbolizes the pure flesh of Christ received from His Virgin Mother, the wick signifies the soul of Christ, and the flame represents His divinity which absorbs and dominates both. Although the two latter properties are found in all kinds of candles, the first is proper of beeswax candles only. Thus the great paschal candle represents Christ, "the true light", and the smaller candles are typical of each individual Christian who strives to reproduce Christ in his life

Looking for followers for your tapers? The followers from Leaflet Missal have been recommended to us (although we haven't tried them ourselves and so can't vouch for them!). They have three options for 7/8" candles: old style followers, high-polish bronze followers, and tapered brass followers.
